New 2024 Honda Civic Type R Redesign
The exterior of the new 2024 Honda Civic Type-R will undergo the most significant revision. The company has unveiled an early model of the 2024 Honda Civic Type R as a tease. Consequently, although we may make educated guesses regarding the general layout of the next-generation CTR, we can only hypothesize about its production specs. We anticipate a more powerful turbo-four being part of it. In addition, we have witnessed a model in testing disguised so minimally that its distinctive rear wing and aggressive wheel and tire combination were still easily discernible.
Honda claims the next-generation Type-R will be more mature and subdued than its predecessor, ditching the rad and wild front of the previous vehicle in favor of a more subdued design. Recent sightings of well-camouflaged test mules suggest that the next-generation Type-R will have a more aggressive yet refined plan to broaden the model’s appeal. Since the new 2024 model will be built on the revised 2022 model’s chassis, the overall size and shape of the car won’t change much from the model it replaces.
Interior
The inside of the Sport is beautiful, and I like the modern, spare style of the new Civic cabin. The air vent controls have a satisfying heft to their operation and click into a centered position, which is fantastic for my OCD, and the air vents themselves are concealed by a mesh insert that runs the dashboard length. The buttons on the center console and the steering wheel are prominent and straightforward to use while behind the wheel. There aren’t any flashy details inside, but the interior was made with longevity, prioritizing ease and comfort above flash.
Front passengers have an abundance of headroom and legroom, and thanks to the Civic’s low beltline, big windscreen, and thin pillars (a pleasant characteristic from earlier Hondas), vision is superb. The Civic Sport’s only real drawback is that you miss out on some of the Touring’s better features. The Civic Sport, like the LX and EX trims, features a 7-inch color touchscreen multimedia system with an adequate basic infotainment package. Thankfully, wired connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, although they both seem somewhat puny on the 7-inch screen. There is no substitute for the bigger 9-inch screen seen in the Civic Touring, nor is wireless smartphone pairing available. You also miss out on Honda’s new 10.2-inch digital gauge cluster, but the LX, Sport, and EX grades receive a 7-inch screen on the left side of the dashboard that shows a tachometer by default but may display other information as well.

Our best time to 60 mph was 7.3 seconds, achieved by the manual Sport Touring hatchback we tested. The all-new 2024 Honda Civic Type-R, which will replace the discontinued 2023 model, will go on sale in June of that year. The starting price for the more exclusive Limited Edition model is $43,995, but there aren’t many options for customization.
